This SUV is perfect for anyone that needs to pack in a large family with all of their luggage, or even just someone that knows a good SUV when they see one. What are some of the driver assistance features?
With the 2019 Atlas, you’ll never have to give safety a second thought. In 2018, the Atlas earned a 5-star overall rating from the NHTSA, and with all of those features carrying over, you can bet that the 2019 model is just as well-prepared. This is especially clear in the available driver assistance features like rear traffic alert, front assist, park distance control, park assist, lane assist, light assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The Atlas itself was built with safety in mind, thanks to the safety cage that helps to direct energy away from all passengers, and a rearview camera system. We’d also be remiss to not mention the Intelligent Crash Response System that is truly revolutionizing safety in vehicles.
What are some of the trim levels?
Along with just being a stylish SUV, the Atlas can be found in five different trim levels. The first trim is the S, which includes Bluetooth, cloth seating, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a bench seat in the 2nd-row, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, LED automatic headlights, rear cross-traffic alert, dual-zone manual climate control, blind-spot monitoring, a rearview camera, forward collision mitigation, and cruise control. Another trim, the SE, adds Car-Net subscription services, simulated-leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen, push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, rear sunshades, and heated front seats. Turn the dial-up and you’ll find the SEL Premium trim. This trim includes a parking assist system, automatic high-beam headlights, a 360-degree surround-view parking camera, power-folding mirrors with puddle lamps, a 12-speaker Fender sound system, full leather seating, heated 2nd-row seats, and heated and ventilated front seats.
What engine options come with the Atlas?
If the trim levels of the Atlas got you excited, then the two available engines will definitely seal the deal. The standard engine with the Atlas is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, which produces around 258 pound-feet of torque and 235 horsepower. This engine is only available in front-wheel drive. The other available engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which generates 266 pound-feet of torque and 276 horsepower. While front-wheel drive comes as standard, all-wheel drive is available. If you do get the AWD system, you’ll be getting driving modes like Sport, Normal, and Eco. Both of these engines come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission to help further boost power and fuel economy.
