2018 Volkswagen Tiguan vs 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan
When it comes to compact crossovers, the Volkswagen Tiguan is a top choice thanks to its German roots and overall usability. While the previous generation (ending with the 2017 model) was extremely well received, Volkswagen went back to the drawing board for the newest edition. Several major changes were made for the 2018 edition of the Volkswagen Tiguan and we thought that it would be a good idea to put it in a comparison with the 2017 model.

What Changes Occurred for 2018 with the Volkswagen Tiguan?
In order to cater to the American drivers who are looking for more space and versatility in their vehicles, Volkswagen increased the size of the Tiguan. For 2018, it grew by more than 10 inches to help increase the passenger and cargo accommodations. Now, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan can seat up to seven passengers and offers a 12.0 / 33.0 / 65.7-cubic foot cargo space. Available two-row configurations can seat five people and have a 37.6 / 73.5-cubic foot cargo space. That is still significantly more than the 2017 model's cargo volume of 23.8 / 56.1 cubic feet.
In addition to the length, the heart under the hood was also modified. Thanks to Volkswagen's world-class engineers, the 2.0L engine was outfitted with new and innovative mechanisms to give it a different power combination (184 horsepower / 221 lb.-ft. of torque). This new combination of power makes the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan more efficient than ever before with an estimated 22 mpg-city / 27 mpg-highway fuel economy! 2017 models have an estimated fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
